How to Make It In The New Music Business: Practical Tips On Building A Loyal Following And Making
A Living As A Musician
,
by Ari Herstand. Now THIS guy knows how the modern music scene operates.
Find out how to build a fan base - and understand today's fans, book a profitable show, get songs
placed in film and TV, reach your crowdfunding goals, get press, and a thousand other things. This
isn't stodgy advice that might have worked, say, in the 90s. This is DIY at its finest.

Want to take courses at Berklee College of Music online? Could be a wonderful way to take
courses there if you can't go to Boston.

Copyright Alliance can help you with copyright questions and issues. A great resource for that.

Need help developing your voice, your career, or "any combination thereof"?? Cari Cole could
be your answer. As an expert in vocal coaching, artist development, and new business mentoring,
Cari uses both honesty and encouragement to help musical artists realize their dreams.

Need help with housing? Check out Mount Rainier Artists Lofts, which offers affordable
housing for artists.

HELPING THE COMMUNITY THROUGH THE ARTS

Guitars Not Guns teaches at-risk youth how to play guitar, and provides guitars for them.
Volunteering is often just as great for volunteers as well as an organization, and this
organization is definitely worth checking out.

The MusicianShip works with youth to change their lives through music. There are summer
programs, after school programs, and an Ambassador program. Carlos Santana, Paul Reed
Smith, and Victor Wooten have all been Ambassadors for this organization. Please visit their
web site to see how to offer your services.

ANOTHER SITE OF MINE TO CHECK OUT

A musician's life can be very hard and stressful. I'm also getting a psychology degree, and
I've created a website about mental health resources for musicians, called FM Communications.
Check it out if you need help in that area.

Please let me know if any links are not working, have changed, etc. Thanks.
